GREEN....IS IT AN ADJECTIVE OR A VERB?

John B. Lawrence-President Miracle Water Solutions
"FROM THE HIP PERSPECTIVE"

Please note: This is only the opinion of one water guy and does not reflect opinions of others... But MIGHT!

"Synergy", "Value Add" "At the end of the day", buzz words and expressions used ad nauseum.
And now "GREEN" is used in every other word in a sentence.  We are concerned about our environment, about the ecosystem, our water, our air, our land and seas yet those of us who seek to cure are most probably past offenders. If you have ever used spray deodorant, or perfume or spray air freshener, then you are an offender.  Left the water running while shaving or brushing your teeth, then you are an offender.  My point is, all of the trouble we face now with our resources depleting is OUR OWN FAULT. So anyone who is wearing a Superhero costume in the name of "GREEN" is not a SUPERHERO at all.  We are ALL guilty, so let's stop patting ourselves on the back and saying "Good job" in fixing something that we caused!!

Our sudden realization that if we ignore the environment, it will go away, is a battle for the future generations, not us. But keep in mind that Earth, as part of the natural order of things, will eliminate the problem and continue to evolve and survive. That problem is US. This may seem a bit negative, and it is, but we live in a time when the Emperor's New Clothes is the norm. What me? I would never do anything to deplete our resources!!

Some claim they are "GREEN" to get the "G$EEN". Adjusting to a market to turn profitability is certainly acceptable, as long as one does not lose sight of the responsibilities of making that statement...and holding to it.  We approach a time when being "GREEN" will no longer be an option, but a requirement, so if you have NOT jumped on the REAL GREEN wagon, it is definitely time you do, but be able to walk the walk (as opposed to taking a car:))

There are subtle, less well known depletions going on that are not as obvious as the land, water and air quality that also need to be addressed.  For instance, SHARKS, scary as they are, are vital to the ecosystem, the natural chain if you will. Yet MILLIONS of sharks are killed each year for one component....their fin...to make shark fin soup. The fin adds no flavor but merely a texture to the expensive dishes ($90.00 a bowl in some areas of China and elsewhere). It is estimated that 1/3 of all species of sharks have fallen to the tragedy of extinction. Extinction by what was once a victim and is now the predator... Man.

Life on earth depends on life in the sea which sits below sharks in the food chain. Phytoplanktons (tiny plants) are the greatest consumer of carbon dioxide (global warming gas) on earth, turning it into oxygen, providing us with 70% of the oxygen we breathe. Removing sharks is cutting off the head of the most important ecosystem for our own survival on earth. The biggest issue in any global warming debate is life in the oceans that allows life on land to exist, yet it's never spoken of... all we hear about is industry and carbon footprints.
